The world’s largest computer manufacturing hub, located in Chongqing, has had an obvious impact on the industry chain. The city’s packaging printing industry welcomed six large-scale enterprises in the first half of 2011 and another two foreign-invested companies since the turn of the year. The investors were all packaging and printing suppliers for computer products. To date, the total invested in Chongqing is RMB 1.55 billion (USD 246.2 million).
The two foreign-invested companies are Shenchuan Color Printing and Packaging (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. (registered capital USD 10 million, investment scale USD 20 million) and Chongqing Hongtao Paper Products Co., Ltd (registered capital USD 15 million, investment scale USD 20 million). Both investors have factories in Shanghai and Suzhou to run packaging and printing businesses. They also produce outer packaging for computers and include Foxconn and ASUS among their customers.
